About ArínzanoAbout Arínzano

The Arínzano winery was designed by Rafael Moneo, the only Pritzker Prize award architect in Spain, whose other works include the Prado Museum extension in Madrid, the L.A. Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, and the Stockholm Museum of Modern Art.

Arínzano winery embodies the philosophy of the estate.  Produced from environmentally friendly materials, Moneo designed the building to truly become part of the terroir it occupies and became in his own words, the landscape winery.  Inside, the winery is designed to be perfectly suited for winemaking. It combines the most modern technology with an artisanal treatment as the grapes follow an organic flow through the winery, guaranteeing a delicate treatment and precise control throughout the whole winemaking process.

The Process

Each parcel is hand picked and double selected to enure only the best grapes are used. Once inside the winery, grapes are moved entirely through gravity and conveyor belts so as to guarantee the most delicate treatment possible. Grapes from each parcel ferment and age separately. Malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels is followed by ageing in French barrels from the best cooperages, as well as ageing in bottle in our cellar.
